ETFE (Ethylene-Tetrafluoroethylene) is a semi-crystalline copolymer synthesized from ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene monomers arranged in an alternating, approximately 1:1 molar ratio. Its molecular backbone consists of carbon atoms bonded to both fluorine and hydrogen atoms, which gives rise to a unique combination of properties: the fluorine content imparts chemical resistance, UV stability, and non-stick characteristics, while the ethylene component contributes flexibility, toughness, and melt processability.
The polymer was first commercialized in the latter half of the 20th century and has since gained recognition as the toughest fluoroplastic available, maintaining the favorable heat resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation properties of PTFE while offering substantially improved mechanical performance and radiation resistance.
Extrusion grade: MFR range from 5.0-15.0, suitable for extrusion molding, mainly used for cable insulation layer, pipe, sheet, film, etc.
Injection grade: MFR range from 15.0-25.0, suitable for injection molding process, mainly used for cable insulation layer, pipe, sheet, film, etc.
Blowing Grade: MFR range from 25-35, suitable for blowing molding process, mainly used for making film with blowing process.
