Fluoroelastomers, also known as FKM, represent a significant class of synthetic rubber material designed for high performance applications. FKM is a premier elastomer with exceptional chemical resistance, high-temperature stability, excellent weathering & environmental resistance. Fluoroelastomers (FKM) can be manufactured into various products as required by the application, such as calendered sheet, rubber extrusions, compression, injection, and transfer molded rubber parts. FKM has become the premier choice for addressing critical sealing solutions in various extreme environments.
Copolymer: This grade FKM is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, with a mooney viscosity from 10-190 and fluorine content from 66-67%. It is mainly used for compression, extrusion, transfer and injection molding.
Terpolymer: This grade FKM is a terpolymer of vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, with a mooney viscosity from 20-90 and fluorine content from 65-70%. It is mainly used for compression, extrusion, injection, transfer and calendaring molding.
Copolymer Peroxide Cured: This garde FKM is peroxide-cured fluoroelastomer, copolymerized with vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene and iodine-containing fluoro-olefin monomers. It is mainly used in automotive, hydraulic applications, electrical and chemical industries. It has excellent processability and mechanical properties, excellent resistance to high temperature steam. In addition, only a very short curing time is required
Terpolymer Peroxide Cured: This garde FKM is peroxide-cured fluoroelastomer, copolymerized with hexafluoropropylene, vinylidene fluoride, and tetrafluoroethylene with a cure site monomer. It is mainly used flexible connecting parts of pipelines, heat exchanger gaskets, pump parts, O-rings and fuel cell seals.
FFKM: This grade FKM is a technically advanced peroxide curable perfluoroelastomer, designed to meet the challenges of demanding sealing applications. This product is designed to have improved acid, water and steam resistance, since it can be formulated without the need for an inorganic base such as zinc oxide. It is classified as FFKM per ASTM D1418. Its fully fluorinated backbone structure provides a very broad chemical and thermal stability. Ideal for wet chemical, fluid handling, cleaning and chemical etching processes for CPI, aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing. Good compression set resistance, use temperature up to 220°C, low metal ion content with low extractables in a wide range of chemicals.
