FEP (perfluoroethylene propylene) is a copolymer formed by the polymerization of the monomer tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, with a working temperature range of -190 to 205°C. FEP is a thermoplastic resin with a specific gravity of 2.14–2.17, and its crystallinity varies depending on the heat treatment temperature. Its mechanical strength, chemical stability, electrical insulation, lubricity, non-stick property, aging resistance, and non-flammability are similar to those of polytetrafluoroethylene, but its heat resistance is slightly lower than that of polytetrafluoroethylene. The long-term usage temperature is -85 to 205°C, and the short-term usage temperature is -200 to 260°C. The brittleness temperature is -90°C. Its outstanding advantage is that its processing performance is better than that of polytetrafluoroethylene, and it can be processed into various complex shapes and components using general thermoplastic processing methods such as hot pressing, extrusion, injection molding, and transfer molding. Due to its low surface tension, it adheres well to metals in the molten state.
Compression molding grade: MFR range from 0.8-2.0, suitable for compression molding with excellent stability and performance. It can be used for making all kinds of valves, pipelines, lining of shells and connecting fittings like joints, plates, rods, etc.
Extrusion and injection grade: MFR range from 2.0-12.0, suitable for extrusion, injection and blowing molding process with excellent stability and performance. It can be used for making various types of pipes, special-sharped parts, films.
Cable Grade: MFR range from 12-35, this grade is particularly suitable for extrusion of cable insulation, wire and cable insulation coating with various diameters and thickness according to different value of melt flow rate.
Aqueous Dispersion: This grade is FEP concentrated dispersion, milky white or slightly yellow, suitable for impregnation and coating process. It can be used as a release material for various molds, anti-adhesive coating on surface of various machines and appliances, performance additive for non-stick coatings.
